The Teatro Santa Ana is now pulsing with the good vibrations of the hit musical Stop the World, I Want to Get Off. There aren’t many musicals done in San Miguel, so get your ticket now for an evening of tuneful nostalgia (the early sixties!) and sensational satire. Michael Sudheer stars as Littlechap, the self-absorbed working class boy who rises to success while completely missing the point of almost everything. Amy Chankin is his long-suffering wife and also—(M)in a series of hysterical caricatures—(M)his string of equally self-absorbed girlfriends. Peggy Powell and Gwenneth Holmes play Littlechap’s daughters. Rounding out the all-singing, all-dancing chorus are Grete Nilsson Amblie, Libby Clemens, Jean Dorr, Martha Holmes, Peggy Lee, Azzah Mannikoy and Alephbalam Cruz Ramirez.

Best remembered for world-class standards “Once in a Lifetime,” “Gonna Build a Mountain” and “What Kind of Fool am I?” this is a show that will send you out singing. Produced, directed and choreographed by Michael Whaley, Stop the World is a romp through the very circus of life.

Tickets are on sale at the Biblioteca, and at Casa de Papel on Mesones or email Michael Whaley at MikewhNY@aol.com  for reservations. Whaley and Sudheer generously offered opening night proceeds to Casita Linda.
