Dr. Phil meets Robin Williams
July 21, 2006

Get ready for an evening of hilarious comedy—that will also leave you stunned at the new insights you have about men and women, and debating them for weeks to come. The San Francisco Chronicle said of Daniel Packard’s Live Group Sex Therapy Show, “It’s Dr. Phil meets Robin Williams.” Before you arrive at the show, ask yourself: “Who has more difficult issues: men or women? What is my own chief grievance about the opposite sex? What’s wrong with men? What’s wrong with women?”

Now, be prepared to share your answers, just in case you can’t stand not to be drawn into the fun. While many comedians make the audience feel uncomfortable (“Oh no! He’s going to call on me!), Daniel puts his audiences so at ease, you’ll hope he engages you. According to CBS, “By getting the whole room involved, he takes the crowd on an absolutely hilarious and revealing emotional journey that is easily the most entertaining, fun, and captivating piece of theater I’ve seen in a long time. Packard has redefined what a comedian can accomplish on stage.”

What makes Packard unique is that he combines his lightning-fast wit with exceptional interpersonal skills. Far from riffing off his audience, he listens intuitively and insightfully, and responds with honesty and compassion. In the end, what he’d really like to do is reunite the sexes under a blanket of deep mutual understanding. You can feel his passion to do this. And you’ll be splitting your side with laughter along the way.

You can play along, or just watch. Make your reservation early for what is not a comedy show but a provocative, engaging, never-to-be-forgotten, comedy “experience.” The show is being produced by Iguana Productions, the same group who brought us the hugely successful play Blown Sideways Through Life.
