Playreaders do "Girl Talk" (April, 13, 2006)

"Girl Talk" is a play in seven scenes with a cast of 12 women, from 18 to 80, who trace their friendships throughout the life cycle. Playwrights Dori Appel and Carolyn Myers wrote "Girl Talk" because they noticed that literature and drama usually portrayed relationships between women as trivial or hostile, and always incidental to those involving men. "We wanted to show that friendships between women are usually warm and supportive sources of personal understanding, common interests, shared humor and affection."

What better place to pay tribute to friends than in San Miguel, with its creative, adventurous, supportive, fun-loving and friendly women?

Come celebrate with our friends in "Girl Talk": Nancy Anderson, India Bastien, Kokila Byrne, Rachel Citrin, Marthe Fraser, Rosalie Gower, Gwenneth Homes, Teresa Major, Janice Page, Peggy Powell, Lola Smith and Lisa Wandler. Our man friend, Larry Brewer, handles light and sound. Kokila Byrne directs. Doors open at 7pm and the play begins at 7:30 pm (or earlier, if the house fills).
