Tribute to Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye
By David Garza

You may have missed the triumphant return of Vudu Chile’s tribute homage to the great legacies of Muddy Waters and Ray Charles. But surely you remember their tributes to Ray Charles or Stevie Ray Vaughn a few years back, or their weekly gigs at the old Char-Rock and Mama Mia, where they rocked the house and grooved the room with classics from rock to reggae, blues to soul, funk to disco, and even eighties classics.

Well, the boys are not finished yet. A funky soul-filled plate of musical excellence with a side of bad a**-attitude and all the cornbread rhythm you need to soak it up with is on their next musical menu.

If you like to dance, maybe the Bibiloteca’s Santa Ana theater will become a 6-rowed, 80-person filled line dance! Even if you don’t dance, you’re in for a great time.

The fluidity, grace and interpretative innovations of lead guitarist Julian Arcos, born and raised in Mexico City, is that of a master. A veteran of the Mexico City music scene, the studio and live performance he performs in ensembles of gypsy jazz, contemporary jazz, jazz fusion, rock , funk, reggae, disco, cubano, salsa, bossa nova, you get the picture.

Drummer, Carlos de Aguinaga, is a Yamaha Musical Instruments sponsored drum teacher and representative. Javier Arco, Julian’s brother, keeps the band tight with his rhythms. While lead singer, Lynx Maple, is a singer/songwriter in his own right. Of Mexican descent he has been singing since a child. The grandchild of a child prodigy piano playing Nana and his electric guitar playing singing chef grandfather, however it wasn’t until later in life that Lynx came to embrace his musical destiny.

Vudu Chile invite you for a night of magic, fun and inspiration, so get your soul shoes on and be ready to have fun !
