Severo Barrera, accomplished classical guitarist, performs master works of several composers from the Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods. His selections also include Spanish and Latin American composers. Come and enjoy works by Bach, Regondi, Albeniz, Barrios, Villalobos and others.

Barrera trained at and graduated from the Conservatories of Mexico and Madrid, where he trained in such types of music as folkloric, jazz, flamenco and Latin American music. Barrera composes, arranges, engineers and publishes his own works and has made several recordings. He has also written for commercial purposes and for movies. For years he has performed internationally and throughout Mexico. Barrera came to San Miguel in 1978 and since then has been playing locally as a soloist and with other musicians. 

This performance will be especially delightful, thanks to the superior acoustics and intimate setting of Teatro Santa Ana. Those of you with a skilled ear will enjoy and appreciate the competence of Barrera’s classical aptitude and tone. His lightsome fingers will amaze and entrance as you experience these beautiful compositions.
