Two Mexican-born musicians who are regulars on the international concert schedule will perform in the San Miguel el Grande Pro Musica series.
Violinist Adrian Justus recently made his debut in London’s Wigmore Hall and has performed at other major venues, including New York Carnegie Hall, Tokyo’s Suntory Hall, the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, the Prague Castle Spanish Hall and Mexico City’s Bellas Artes. He has appeared as concert soloist with the Philharmonia Orchestra in London, Kyoto Philharmonic, Mexico City Chamber Orchestra, Israel Soloists Orchestra, Sinfónica del Estado de Mexico, Philharmonic de Veracruz, Filharmonia de Jalisco in Guadalajara and the Prague Festival Orchestra.
Justus has also recorded several CDs, including the Sibelius concerto with the Philharmonia Orchestra in London, released on the Carlton Classic label. His most recent release, Tapestry, includes contemporary chamber music by Pablo Ortiz, Matthew Nicholl and Leonardo Velázquez.
Pianist Mauricio Nader has played in over 500 performances in the US, Germany, Bulgaria, Italy, Norway, Portugal, Belize, Brazil, Colombia, El Salvador, Canada and Cuba.
Since his debut at age 19 in Mexico City’s Bellas Artes as a soloist with the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional, he has appeared as a soloist with various orchestras in Europe Central and South America. In 1996, Nader won first prize in the Bartók-Kabalevsky International Piano Competition, and in the same year the President of Austria decorated him with a Commemorative Medal of the Millennium. He also has been awarded first prize in several other international competitions.
