July 2: The traditional pilgrimage honoring El Señor de la Columna leaves El Templo de San Juan de Dios in the early morning and arrives at the Santuario in Atotonilco around noon.
July 16: Festividad de La Virgen de Carmen (Feast of the Virgin of Carmen). The month of July is devoted to the Virgin of Mt. Carmel. A novena (nine days of prayer) began July 7
July 19: First Sexual diversity festival “LGBT+H” at La Carpa and various cultural venues in the city.
July 22-29: The Expresión en Corto short film and documentary festival, regarded as one of the best in Latin America.
Mid-July: The Feast of Atotonilco (a moving holiday) draws pilgrims from throughout the state of Guanajuato, many in their native dress. Conchero dancers, music, fireworks.
July 26: Día de Santa Ana (Feast of St. Anne). The grandmother of Jesus Christ is honored at La Iglesia de Santa Ana. Worship began nine days earlier.
