Mexico emerged from a complex, unique original civilization, one of the major ones in the world at the time. It was a violent civilization, fanatical and ambitious, and endured a traumatic conquest, with ongoing inequalities.

After 300 years of the colonial era and Viceroyalty, a new nation arose with deep crises: problems of political and cultural identity, economic bankruptcy, social inequality and worn ecosystems. Deep wounds were inflicted in civil wars, two revolutions, two invasions, four wars and loss of more than half the original territory.

A social revolution in the twentieth century finally began to form the country, a mosaic of many Mexicos. During the last decade, we finally have experienced a democracy, albeit late and incomplete.

The presentation will be an overview of 25 centuries of evolution and civilization in the area of San Miguel de Allende. For more information, visit www.tasma.info.
