Mayor Nuñez takes office amid partisan conflicts

Presidenta Municipal (mayor) Lucy Núñez and the new city council took office on Saturday, October 10. 

Nuñez installed the city council just after midnight, the new mayor and her city councilors held their first official session later that day at 4pm in the Salón de Cabildos in the former presidencia building. During the meeting the city council appointed and approved the directors of the various governmental departments.
