Election campaigns heat up

On July 5 sanmiguelenses will elect a new mayor. Four candidates are contending for the position: Cristóbal Franyuti, for PAN (National Action Party); Lucy Núñez for PRD (Democratic Revolution Party), PRI (Institutional Revolutionary Party) and PV (Green Party); Dr. Alberto Mendoza, for Nueva Alianza (New Alliance Party); and Miguel de Jesús Rangel, for PT (Work Party).

The four candidates were invited by Atención to talk with the expat community, from June 3 to June 6 at Teatro Santa Ana.

World Environment Day Festival in San Miguel

The week of June 1–7, the World Environment Day celebrations are scheduled in San Miguel, with the participation of local government departments, the universities of Querétaro, UNAM and Guadalajara as well as several nongovernmental organizations. More than 50 events including music, exhibitions, dances, lectures and workshops will be presented within the city and in rural communities
