New program aims to dissuade youth from crime

A lack of supervision, peer pressure, drug and alcohol abuse and domestic violence all can lead young people to commit petty crimes that could escalate into serious offenses if their behavior is not checked.

In an attempt to forestall or reverse criminal behavior among San Miguel’s youth, the Public Security Department has created the Estrella Azul (Blue Star) program.
