Fireworks at dawn, San Miguel celebrates its saint

The celebration honoring the city’s patron saint, San Miguel Arcángel, is one of the most lavish in San Miguel de Allende. Usually held the fourth weekend of September, near the saint’s feast day of September 29, this year it takes place October 3 to 5. A smaller preliminary parade to usher in the festival period, the Reseña de San Miguel, begins at 5pm on Friday, September 26.
