Local immigration office might move to Celaya

Due to increasing crime problems caused by illegal Central American immigrants in Celaya, the San Miguel office of the Instituto Nacional de Migración (INM; National Immigration Institute), one of only two in the state of Guanajuato, may relocate to that city. Another consideration for the move is that the state also lacks a much-needed detention center for illegals who are arrested and held until repatriation to their country of origin.
