Behind the bouquets: Life not rosy for many mothers

On May 10, Mother’s Day in Mexico, the streets resemble a mobile garden as children of all ages carry flowers and gifts homeward to the women who gave them life. 

On the other side of the roses, candy and well-deserved affectionate attention, life is not easy for mothers, especially those who are single, abandoned or elderly. Atención dedicates this article to mothers and to the institutions that support them in San Miguel de Allende.
