Ecology and environmental protection focus of World Environment Day

On Thursday, June 5, World Environment Day was celebrated to heighten awareness that we have to take care of our planet.
|
San Miguel de Allende joined the celebration with various events, including conferences, an exhibit of ecological projects by San Miguel students, and a city council session at which Mayor Jesus Correa bestowed awards to residents and institutions that have undertaken outstanding projects in the environmental area. A gastronomy exhibit of dishes prepared with soy by women from 30 different rural communities was organized by DIF (Department of Family Integration).
