Festival de San Miguel de Allende celebrates its sixteenth season, presenting renowned artists December 19–31. The first festival offered four classical music concerts in 1987.

Today the festival has grown into a major annual event, recognized by many as the country’s best festival of classical music.

Traditions
As the city’s Christmas decorations appear, swinging and sparkling above the streets of San Miguel, families begin their preparations for adorning their own homes for the holidays.

The children will be dressed as Mary, Joseph, angels and shepherds; some will have burros. Children of Casa de Sierra Nevada staff and community members will join the posada. |

For December, Galería Atotonilco features Justino Huerta, one of the finest wood-inlay artists in Mexico. Once flourishing, the work is now limited to only two towns.. |
