Editor,

Christmas and Three King’s Day approach. As President of Fund-Raising for Save The Children Mexico, Guanajuato Region (FAI), I ask you all to give to our Ludotecas. These are community toy and game centers that are run like a library. Children can check out a game or puzzle for an hour or two and then return it to the center.

We teach respect by asking that their hands are clean and that the toy or puzzle is returned in good condition for the next child. There is no “Santa Claus” who indiscriminately chooses one child over another; rather a toy and game center is available to all who care to use it. We use a fair and egalitarian system.

Please leave your gifts at our offices/store at calle Hidalgo 13, Col. El Centro. We welcome donations of: Domino sets, chess sets, checker sets, lottery games, board games, jigsaw puzzles, decks of cards and books of card games, soccer balls, volleyballs, volleyball nets, basketballs, basketball hoops and nets, jacks and balls, chalk, dolls (no blue-eyed, blondes, please), science sets, microscopes, bird toys and books, insect toys and books, barnyard animals (no tractors, please), stuffed animals, small gardening tools, paints and brushes, paper (no coloring books, please), crayons.

Please only donate Spanish-language books and games. No guns, knives or slingshots, please.

Blessings,

Alexa Fullerton
