What the stars hold for Obama and Calderón By Annabella de Corro

Studies of Western and Chinese astrology and destiny cards are believed by many to give insights into the essential character of human beings. Since the time of the ancient Egyptians and Greeks, leaders have been interested in astrology to predict the length of their reigns and know what the stars held for them. In recent times, President Reagan did not make decisions without consulting his personal astrologer. 

Presidents Calderón and Obama were both born under the sign of Leo, which makes them natural leaders. The sun’s strength is in their favor, giving them stamina to carry their respective countries forward. They share much of the same ideology and have a natural trust for delegating authority to others. Thus, they must take care not to undertake more than their capacities allow. 

Because both leaders are currently so important to the destiny of Mexico and the US, I have studied the astrological profiles of Felipe Calderón and Barack Obama, which are offered below.


Felipe Calderón
Born August 18, 1962
Zodiac sign: Leo

Destiny card: 8 of Clubs

President Calderón, as a Tiger in the Chinese Astrology, fights for justice and acts as king in his own jungle; he has the wisdom to listen to others and apply justice, which can cause him to be misunderstood. However, in the end he is only looking for justice. His destiny card, the 8 of Clubs (the same as Dwight Eisenhower), is considered the Magna Carta of mental power, also called the Lawyers’ Letter. Calderón studied at Harvard University and has a great capacity to climb to the top. His principles are highly ethical and they have had a certain purpose since his youth. Calderón has the ability to open new financial doors for Mexico and to change the mistaken concept other countries have about Mexico and Mexicans. His mission is to promote Mexico as a country of peace and welfare with an excellent future for investment. 

Barack Obama
Born August 4, 1961
Zodiac sign: Leo
Chinese astrological sign: Ox
Destiny card: 9 of diamonds

According to Chinese Astrology, Obama was born in the Year of the Ox, so he is currently living his year. The Ox represents work and physical and mental power. Obama will return lost values to Americans, although we will have to be careful with his decisions. He is taking back the traditions of leaders such as Abraham Lincoln and Thomas Jefferson, who inspired him. He does not take unfounded risks, and he analyzes situations twice before making any decision. Obama was born with the gift of patience and perseverance, magnified by his sign as the Year of the Ox, which gives him the physical and mental strength to get past any obstacle he encounters. 

According to his card of destiny, president Obama was born under the 9 of Diamonds, which represents universal values and philanthropy. He is generous with himself and highly productive, though occasionally he may suffer personal losses. 

People born under the Ox are destined to promote new ideas and they have the conviction to carry them forward. However, Obama will have to take care of himself, since such people are subject to accidents, mainly in cars. 

Finally, the charismatic new president cares for the welfare of people and has the potential to bring relief to the world.
