Editor,

Why is Casa de Sierra Nevada en Parque clogging our calle?

Cañadita de los Aguacates is a narrow street where there is often not room for two cars to pass. Nonetheless, Casa de Sierra Nevada en Parque has decided to use this tiny, congested thoroughfare as a parking and staging area for deliveries and pick-ups to and from the hotel, thus inconveniencing on a daily basis the many people who live in La Cañadita, Privada del Sol, Prolongación La Quinta, Sancho Panza and Ojo de Agua.

Even when deliveries are not in progress, a Seao truck is often illegally parked on the calle outside the hotel, causing drivers to have to perform steering contortions in order to get past.

Oddly enough, before ownership of the hotel passed to Orient-Express Hotels, there was never a problem. Somehow, the previous management handled their delivery and pick-up needs without inconveniencing an entire neighborhood.

To make matters even more incomprehensible, the hotel has a wide entrance and a driveway leading off of the Cañadita. I guess it’s too much trouble for them to use it—never mind the rest of us!

My message to current management is this: if you intend to flourish in San Miguel, you will need to become much more community-minded. If not, then a lot of us in your neighborhood are prepared to show you what community is all about.
