Letters

Editor,

To all my friends: From each of you I have received generosity and kindness, your anxious hopes and well-wishing. Your love has motivated and fortified me, and for this I am and will be, forever grateful. I found strength in all of your faces, received it from your prayers and encouraging words. Angels don’t live just in the heavens, but make their presence known here on earth in San Miguel, and in the whole world.

Your loving kindness has given me this great gift of life, made possible my bone marrow transplant of “mother cells,” the procedure I’ve recently undergone in Monterey. This extraordinarily divine experience has elated my heart and filled my spirit with gratitude. Thanks to you I have been given the most beautiful gift: la vida!

My faith is in the divine fountain, that energy that transforms everything, making all things possible. This energy touched all of your hearts, touched even the hearts of children, who passing me in the street would entrust me with their confidence and love. Such generosity is marvelous, and gives me great hope.

Friends, I’m back. I’ve returned, and I’ve learned much on this long journey. I love life, and I know that everything has a point. We all come from the divine fountain and all of us can realize it. Each of us has a purpose to fulfill. I found LOVE inside of me. I live with gratitude for my illness, which I have befriended. I give thanks to my illness because now I know that the reason I was created is to teach a different manner of seeing reality.

We are beings of light, “Todos lo somos.” We are spiritual beings expressing, living out our humanity. We need to believe this truth and to trust it. I’m filled with gratitude. I trust in life’s processes. I knew I could cross this bridge and that I would return to see another glorious sunrise here in San Miguel. I trusted in the marvelous Being called love, which is my Dios. This belief goes deeper than religion and is more spiritual.

I trusted and you are here. My reality is to live an extraordinary life, and I AM STILL HERE, thanks to your love and kindness, you radiant, extraordinary people!

A thousand thanks for sharing your beautiful lives with me. And thanks to my marvelous sister Enriquita: Enrry, I love you. Thanks for giving me your living cells and being a part of this divine gift.

Now I’m recuperating; resting, reading and painting. I’m taking care of myself. Everything has gone well up until now, and I know that I’ll continue to regain strength.

I love you and again, thanks a million for your love and generosity.
