Walk the Line

This biopic follows the life of Johnny Cash from the beginning of his career through his 10-year-long romantic pursuit of June Carter. The strength of any biopic rests in its ability to pull you into the story whether or not you know, or even like, the main character. This film clearly accomplishes this. But it also does much more, in part by using great music, not just as an ego trip for the actors but as an integral component of the plotline. Each song moves the story forward by showing us how Cash and Carter's relationship changes over time.

We will show art and cultural documentaries, artist bios and work, philosophy and spiritual cinema and lectures, nature and ancient cultures documentaries, and so on. James Mangold's film distills Cash's transformation from man to icon-from his hardscrabble days on an Arkansas farm to Sun Records in Memphis, Tennessee, where Cash finally found a way for his talent to come into its own. Reese Witherspoon plays his beloved June, alongside co-stars Robert Patrick and Shelby Lynne.

The Forgotten (2004)

A desperate mother tries to prove the existence of her missing son in this chilling psychological thriller. After meeting another parent (Dominic West) with the same story, Telly sets out to uncover the truth. Also stars Alfre Woodard.
