Endless possiblities of exploration
By Marianna Garcés

“Dances from Female Bodies” celebrates female bodies on stage. San Miguel serves as the meeting point for two companies—Árnica Dance-Theater from Buenos Aires and Lola Lince’s company Butoh. Both are well known for quality production, as well as for their creativity on stage. The companies both attempt to seduce the audience with their creative yet perfected techniques.

Mabel Dai Chee Chang directs the play At Boiling Point. This presentation entails a mix between dance and theater, with some erotic performance as well. At Boiling Point attempts to reveal women through their bodies, their nudity and movement.

Lola Lince directs Lilith’s Masks. This show more closely resembles the postwar era Japanese style dance of Butoh. Lilith is a sign of the female body, which, when translated, becomes a vessel through which the public can travel through the female body, mind and soul.

On the same days of these presentations, a workshop will be taking place in El Sindicato, conducted by Mabel Dai Chee Chang. People related to dance, acting or other modes of performance, or those who are interested in developing improvisation and creative techniques for the stage should drop by El Sindicato at Recreo 4 or email lasantaproducciones@gmail.com  for more information.

These events are a co-production between DCO Magazine and La Santa Productions, both believers in the endless possibilities of exploration through bodies and movement. The ticket price includes mescal and delicacies. We hope to see you there.
