San Miguel “Salsa y Sabor”

On Friday, July 7, and Saturday, July 8, San Miguel’s festival of Salsa rocks the tent at La Carpa. Classes, dance workshops and open dances highlight the festival, whose instructors and invited guests are among the top dancers in Mexico. See Atención

Cost is 100 pesos each night, or a 2-day pass for 350 pesos, which includes workshop fees. Workshops cost 90 pesos each.

Tickets are available at the La Carpa office, upstairs between Café del Jardín and the photo shop in Portal Allende, from 10am to 2pm. Tickets are also available at La Carpa from Patty between 10am and 6pm.

Tap, hip-hop and modern jazz dance lecture and demonstration
| International dance masters José Luis Reyna Magaña, director of the dance company Tabú Contemporaneo, and Dr. Olivier Pascalin, a well-known choreographer, winner of the Fred Astaire Award and Guinness Book of World Records record holder, demonstrate dance techniques on Saturday, July 8, at 6pm at the Biblioteca’s Teatro Santa Ana. The event is open to the public at no charge; seating is limited.
