"Out beyond ideas of right doing and wrong doing there is a field, I'll meet you there."

-Rumi

According to many in the psychology field, human beings need unconditional love from birth in order to develop as healthy and secure individuals. Most of us, if we were fortunate, received it from a parent or authority figure. Somewhere along the way, we may realize the need to provide ourselves the acceptance and loving nurturing that we deserve. One of life's major challenges is understanding the coexistence of opposite values manifesting themselves all around us.

Dance and movement psychotherapist Ricardo Antonio Campos Díaz uses belly dancing to help women around the country become more aware and accepting of themselves. Originally from Durango, Campos is returning to San Miguel for the second time to be in the place he says "renews and joins together spirit, mind and body" to share this beautiful and sensual art form as a teacher and performer. His upcoming show, with other guest dancers, at Teatro Santa Ana is a tribute to the "dancing duality" of life: "a show that encompasses the two sides of a whole ... impregnating the stage with a touch of emotions from beginning to end."

Tickets are 70 pesos for nonmembers of the Biblioteca Pública, 50 pesos for members. For information on belly dancing workshops, call 153-5260 (limited attendance).
