For those of you who have attended prior Enneagram workshops, this will be a new presentation with more emphasis on personal and spiritual growth and will help you optimize your previous experience.
For those of you who are saying, “What’s an Enneagram?” it has become a popular tool for self-discovery and growth. According to Enneagram theory, every personality type is distinguished by a basic unconscious motivation which produces the pattern of perception, thinking, feeling and behavior that is called personality. This motivation may become a compulsive inhibition to personal growth and relationships.
This workshop provides a thorough foundation for working with the Enneagram system. It describes the nine personality types, how type is formed, the habit of emotion and thinking and the avoidances, defense mechanisms and habits of attention that hold each type in place. Participants discover their own types and investigate implications for building a better life, better relationships and better understanding of others.
The Essential Enneagram by Dr. David Daniels will be used to assist participants to identify their own Enneagram personality type. It can be ordered online or through Libros El Tecolote, Jesús 11.
The Rev. Robert S. Shank is the retired Rector of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Plymouth, Michigan and past executive director of the Cranbrook Peace Foundation. He now resides in Tucson, Arizona and has received extensive training in presenting Enneagram workshops and has worked with groups in the US, Mexico, Great Britain, the Middle East and Africa.
There will be a half hour for lunch and you can either bring a sack lunch or go out. In order to hold the workshop, we must have a minimum of 12 participants. Please call Eunice Hernandez at St. Paul’s, 152-0387 by April 1 to reserve your place.
