The Sociedad Protectora de Animales has been leading the charge in animal welfare for over 20 years. It is the only animal shelter for dogs and cats in San Miguel de Allende and houses up to 100 animals.

The SPA funds an on-premises clinic that offers low-cost veterinary care, vaccinations and spay/neuter services to needy resident animal owners.
