Changing currents in new US Federal banking laws might bring up the issue, “Can I still trust my offshore trust?” or, even worse: “How I spent Christmas in jail.” US attorney David Barrow will give a free presentation in the Biblioteca Pública’s Sala Quetzal about asset management and protection. Covered in the presentation will be how to structure assets when living outside of the US for privacy, protection, control, tax minimization, estate planning, civil liability protection and other special needs and considerations.

Although the presentation is free, donations to the Biblioteca Pública are encouraged. David R. Barrow is an actively practicing US attorney authorized by the Mexican federal government to practice US law in Mexico

Poet and painter, Alan Clark reads from his book Guerrero and Heart’s Blood. This play for five voices is set in Mexico just before the Conquest and concerns the lives of the historical figures, Gonzalo Guerrero, a Spaniard married to a Maya woman, Jeronimo de Aguilar, a Spanish priest and slave, both shipwrecked in 1511 and washed ashore in what is now Quintana Roo.

Guerrero, and its companion story, Heart’s Blood, as an adapted monologue, have been produced a number of times in both Mexico, sponsored by the Mexican Government, and in the US. He has had numerous solo and group exhibitions in Mexico and the US. Blood and Stone: Paintings by Alan Clark (paintings from Mexico) was at the Farnsworth Art Museum in 2004.

Soulful music at Teatro Santa Ana

Concert
The Poet Society

Teatro Santa Ana

The Poet Society was created last year when Andres Suarez (guitar, harmonica and vocals) find Xavier Olazábal (drummer, percussion) walking in the streets of San Miguel.

These two young men play together with a rare and special chemistry, creating their own particular sound. All the lyrics are written by Andres; his influences are mostly folk, bossa nova, blues and rock and roll. If you put all this together and add the profound feelings of their youth, you’ll get a joyful blend of music.

Come and support this unique and special band this Thursday, November 29 at the Teatro Santa Ana.
