For any organization to grow over 50 years into a multifacted institution means dedicated work and perseverance by many—many collaborators.

This Friday, Luisa Velte, a volunteer with the Biblioteca Pública for more than 30 years, is honored for her outstanding contribution to the educational and cultural institution. 

Luisa served on the Biblioteca Pública board of directors and the English and Spanish language book committees, though her most outstanding contribution has been to the Scholarship program for secondary and college students.

Well-respected and admired for her dedication to altruistic work, by those not just in the Biblioteca but in San Miguel, Luisa is considered exemplary in her service to the improvement of educational opportunities for San Miguel children. The Biblioteca invites the general public and past scholarship beneficiaries to attend this event
