Meetings & Lectures
Unitarian Universalist Fellowship
Last March, Obama met incendiary outbursts by pastor Jeremiah Wright with a powerful speech on racism that pushed his campaign into a higher gear and silenced Wright. This week, Sandy Brooks, Marianne Koerner, Dr. Clifford DuRand and Jon Siever will read that speech to remind us that President Obama’s principles ring true and promise America is back on track.
The UU Fellowship meets every Sunday at 10:30am at La Posada de la Aldea, Ancha de San Antonio 15. Visitors are invited to attend the service and then join the UUs in the hotel restaurant for brunch.

Tours & Excursions
Saturday Adventure Tours
In Eunice O’Hanna’s intriguing home, we will see her one-of-a-kind necklaces, most with “Tec” themes—Aztec, Olmec and Toltec. Her decor is fascinating, especially the Adam & Eve wall mural. Eunice will be there to show, explain and answer questions.
At an unfinished dream of a hilltop house, the view takes your breath away. As you walk through this magnificent skeleton of a house, you can plan what each room will be. A beautifully designed stable will house Andalusian horses. Unfortunately, we will see a “horse-less stable.” These tours leave from inside the Jardín, across from the Parroquia, at 10:30am.
Instituto Allende field trip to Bernal and Querétaro
On Saturday, January 31, 9am, the weekly field trip heads to Bernal and Querétaro. Bernal boasts a towering landmark boulder and the village is renowned for its local weavers and for semiprecious stones.
In nearby Querétaro, the tour stops at the famous Aqueduct, Plaza de Armas, Villa del Villar del Aquila Fountain, Hill of the Bells, Benito Juárez Monument, the Chapel of Archduke Maximilian and the outdoor market. A walking tour leads through colonial streets with preserved gardens, churches and fountains.
Cost for this all-inclusive trip is US$65. Reservations are a must and fees must be paid in advance. Native-speaking, bilingual guides lead all tours in a safe environment.
For more information, call 152-0226 or visit Ancha de San Antonio 20.

A guided tour in English of El Charco del Ingenio each Tuesday and Thursday, 10am–noon, is a fun and informative activity for people of all ages.
