Three New Solo Exhibits Open at the Intersección Gallery.

By Margaret Failoni

Three very different artists will exhibit new works for the Intersección Gallery:

Alejandra Mendoza has prepared a new take on her acute vision of our ever-more consumerist society with a not-too-veiled critique of the fashion world, including her always purposeful stitched imagery and a beautifully executed series of majolica tiles with the same message under a different guise.

Ángel Ricardo Rios comes back to the gallery with a garden of delights. In his semiabstract floral world we can almost perceive the scent of his carefully constructed visual cacophony. After last year’s exhibition in Bellas Artes and an exhibit in Querétaro’s Museum of Art, this is the largest exhibition of his work in the Bajío.

Ri Anderson, in her first exhibit at Intersección Gallery, comes to us with a hauntingly beautiful series of photographs depicting a surreal world of longing and nostalgia. It’s a semiautobiographical visual diary of life’s changes. Her work has been chosen to represent the increasingly prestigious FOTOSEPTIEMBRE USA photography festival.
