San Miguel Bridge Group Donates Books on the Game to the Biblioteca

By Linda Whynman

BOOK DONATION

Whether you’re an absolute beginner at bridge or want to hone your skills, there’s no need to go online and order books to improve your game. The Bridge Studio of San Miguel de Allende has just donated 50 books by experts in the field to La Biblioteca.

This treasure-trove will be available for sale at greatly reduced prices at the Bodega de Sorpresas from 10am to 1pm on Thursdays. The Bridge Studio is especially grateful to Judy Rosenthal for facilitating this donation.

The Bridge Studio, an official ACBL duplicate bridge club, is pleased to announce that it is relocating to the Mon Bistro restaurant, located in the scenic Las Ventanas Golf Club. The large gated complex is located north of town, at the junction of the Libramiento Route 51 (Celaya–Dolores Highway) and the Highway from Aurora toward Dolores. Parking at Las Ventanas is free. If you’re driving or walking, please note that you must present a photo ID upon entering. However, those passengers arriving by taxi, Uber, or other persons’ cars do not need to show ID.

The Studio will hold its first duplicate bridge game at Ventanas on Monday, July 29. Members, old and new, as well as visitors to San Miguel are welcome to games held four days a week: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. Games begin promptly at 1:30pm, so please arrive no later than 1:15pm. Mon Bistro restaurant will be open prior to game time, serving a light lunch beginning at 12:45pm.

If you are looking for a partner, please contact our partnership chair, Mary Katherine Wainwright, at mkwbridge@gmail.com. Let her know what level you play at and for which days you’re seeking a partner.
