Exhibit at Jimmy Ray Gallery is Artistic Adventure

By Richard Lorenzo

Local artist and outsider curator Anado McLauchlin has miraculously found the cure for the summertime blues. Ironically, the cure is Summertime Blues, a new group show opening August 3 at Anado’s Chapel of Jimmy Ray Gallery.

The exhibition will only be up for two weeks, so make an appointment to view the work during the two-week window after the opening.

Twenty-five local and international artists, including McLauchlin, will show their individual encounters with the color blue, including paintings, drawings, video, photographs, and sculpture.

The artists in this show are: Gregory Ellis, Maureen Morris, Gene Johnson, Edward Swift, Linda Bacon, Lena Bartula, Hope Palmer, Dirk Bakker, Gordon Morris, Peter A. Davis, Linda Laino, Joe Molinaro, Michael Sudheer, Shirli Marcantel Ellis, Diane Varney, Kathleen Cammarata, Carol Jackson, Richard Schultz, Stepen Goldblatt, Bobbi Van, Jennifer Posner, Greg Reiner, Sheridan Sansegundo, Ann Chamberlin Thomas Seligman, and Anado McLauchlin.

Prepare yourself for an adventurous and tasty event in the countryside outside San Miguel de Allende. Over the years, openings at Casa de Las Ranas—McLauchlin’s house and intricate work of art—and the Chapel of Jimmy Ray Gallery have provided the San Miguel community with a festive and intriguing immersion into all that is celebrative and joyful in expression. Be prepared for surprises and mirth!
