Free Literary Sala Event: Ten More San Miguel Authors Reading from Their Works

On the heels of a successful event featuring 10 Literary Sala authors reading from their works in progress, the organization presents yet another 10 local authors reading from their works on Thursday, June 20.

This free event in The Literary Sala event room at Bellas Artes, is entitled “San Miguel Writers Read from Their Works.” Come be introduced to yet more members of the community of talented professional writers working right here in San Miguel.

Writers Margaret Tallis and Cazz Roberts will read from their romantic novel, The Secrets of Carmen Maria de Los Angeles. Margot Duell will read from her memoir, My Naked Life. Ariel Adams will read from her self-help book, Seven Bad-Girl Secrets to Living a Delicious, Daring Life after 50.

Meanwhile, Robin Rogers will read from her travel memoir, Tales from My Travels, while Sharon Jeffers will present a nonfiction book on mysticism: Beyond the Body: Stories from the Other Side. Mariana Ratna Dakini will read selections from her poetry book Hopelessness as Discipline, and Amy Cotler will present her creative nonfiction memoir Unexpected Pleasures: Takes from a Culinary Alchemist. Linda Sonna will read from her literary fiction book The Wannabe Unicorn. Gabrielle Brie will also share her memoir, We Flew Under the Radar while longtime San Miguel writing coach Eva Hunter returns to San Miguel after a break and presents her work of literary nonfiction, The Way We Are.

Prepare for a lively, fascinating afternoon when these writers, usually hidden away in their studios, come into the light to share their creations.

The fun begins at 5pm. To get to The Literary Sala’s reading and event room, enter Bellas Artes, turn right under the porticoes, and go to the end of the hall.
