Transformative Journey for Women Promises to Awaken the Great Mother Within

Emily K. Grieves

By Maia Williams

Join us on an adventure to one of the great cradles of creativity, Oaxaca, México, where artists of everyday life have been honoring the Sacred Mother for thousands of years and awakening her reflection within their own hearts through creative expression.

We will climb the steps of the sacred sites and pyramids of Monte Albán and Mitla to experience initiations, ceremonies, and a vortex of transformation. Drink in the wisdom of the Tule Tree. Soak in the healing mineral baths at the Hierve el Agua petrified waterfalls. Wander the streets, churches, and art galleries of Oaxaca City, and find inspiration in the magic of Teotitlaán del Valle’s weavers. We will embrace these artists of everyday life.

Our home base in Oaxaca will be at Casa de las Bugambilias, a converted home voted one of the top B&Bs in Oaxaca’s historic center. Relax and revive in luxurious rooms filled with the vibrant colors and fabrics reflecting the heart and soul of México. Wake each morning to a decadent, delicious, and healthy breakfast prepared with loving care. The Cabreras family shares their home and traditions generously, providing visitors with a unique vision of México’s culture through its art and food.

An indigenous healer will guide everyone individually through a temazcal bath to purify our mind, body, and spirit in an extraordinary garden setting. Ancient ceremonies combine a cleansing sweat with herbs and flowers. Music and a soothing massage will renew and energize us. We will experience traditional indigenous culture in an extraordinary manner and feast on this cradle of creativity’s sights, sounds, and tastes.

Stephanie Urbina Jones will lead us in this powerful environment on a spiritual journey in the way of Toltec shamanic breathwork, using the rhythms of drums, rattles, and music. Much like traveling to sacred places, this practice can be used to enter altered states of consciousness. We will also experience no-stress painting and intentional creativity with Emily K. Grieves and intuitive writing with me, Maia Williams.

This is the last call for this journey, which is limited to 12 participants.
