The Late Terry Rose’s Sports Poster Art to Be Sold in San Miguel for Charity

TERRY ROSE

By Ezequiel López

Terry Rose, who passed away from cancer in 2017, was an internationally known artist who spent his last years in San Miguel de Allende working and enjoying being a part of the San Miguel community.

After a life as a graphic designer, Rose turned to fine art. He was known late in life for his iconic series of sports posters, which he loved working on.

“Like an athlete, I prepare for it and then attempt to stop thinking and let my instincts guide me,” he once said of his works. He was inspired by movement and energy, using light on top of dark lines to create tension and movement.

When he passed away, he left a series of his unique art posters to our city’s Rotary Club chapter. It was his wish that these be sold, with the funds going to support Sanmiguelenses in need. These works of art will be sold here on Saturday, March 2, in order to fulfill Rose’s final dream of making a difference.

Come enjoy this chance to see much of Terry Rose’s work in one place and help make his final wishes come true by acquiring a valuable piece of his art.

The Rotary Club of San Miguel has been working to benefit San Miguel for the last 60 years. We have our meetings every Wednesday at the Hotel Quinta Loreto at 8pm. You can also contact us at 415 103 0066.
