Equine Craniosacral Workshop to Be Held at Rancho Sol Dorado

By Christina Johnson

A workshop to train people who own or work with horses about equine craniosacral techniques (ECS) will be held on February 4.

The clinic’s first part will consist of a talk on ECS and its benefits, followed by a question-and-answer session. Part two will teach participants how to assess a horse and learning how to perceive it more “poetically,” with a horse there that will be worked on as a demonstration. The third part will teach two helpful techniques to use on your horse.

For a description of ECS, see

ECS work is a holistic healing practice that uses extremely light finger pressure to optimize body movement. When applied correctly, this gentle and subtle technique can be highly effective in addressing a number of conditions in horses.

ECS takes exquisite listening skills, deep intuition, and a disciplined practice of focus and perception. Usually when you witness this work being done on a horse, you can actually see the movement energy work as it moves through the horse.

The workshop and lunch will be at Rancho Sol Dorado, an idyllic setting just a few kilometers from San Miguel de Allende’s center. It begins at 10am, so please arrive early to park, find a seat, and pay your entrance fee. The total fee is 600 pesos. We would appreciate the correct change. Wine and beer will be available for cash sale during lunch.

To reach Rancho Sol Dorado, take the highway to Dolores Hidalgo just past Rancho La Loma and then past Girasol, where you will see the sign to the ranch on the right. Go 3.2 km on a dirt road, turn left at the ranch entrance and a big mesquite tree, and then go to the caballerizas.

Participants will be able to have their own horse worked on at an appointed time for a 50 percent discount. Contact ECS practitioner Christina Johnson at 154 9085 or at More information is available at
