Danzón Celebrates Eleventh Year of Public Dance Events
By Leonardo Rosen
We thank all of our dear friends for their loyalty to El Danzón y Otros Ritmos Bailables con el Club de Danzón Mercerina for the past ten and a half years. We do our best to preserve and promote the great Cuban/Mexican tradition of the danzón, which is now 140 years old. In addition, we also present the rest of the Latin dance repertoire. Please join us, whether you want to dance or just watch the fun.
Thanks to San Miguel de Allende’s Dirección de Cultura y Tradiciones, we present our next event on Sunday February 3, 4:30–7:30pm, in the Plaza Cívica, Centro. Admission is free. For your dancing pleasure, this event features the energetic live music of the Orquesta Marimba “Tono 13.” For further information, call 121 4319 (Dirección de Cultura y Tradiciones) or 154 5840 (Leo, El Brujo del Danzón.)
Music and dance transcend spoken language barriers, and all of you have always been the stars of this show. ¡”Pa’ Bailar y Pa’ Gozar”!
