What Happens at a Facilitators of Healing Gathering?

By Michael Pearl

As a San Miguel resident, I have been attending the meetings of the Facilitators in Healing for nearly a decade. These weekly sessions in the first three months of each year are one of the most inspiring and rewarding occasions one could ever hope to attend anywhere.

The first half of the two hours of a meeting is taken up with a healer presenting and demonstrating their particular expertise. The variety of techniques shown knows almost no boundaries, from color therapy through chanting with music to card readings and Reiki.

The second hour brings hands-on healing. A volunteer lies on the massage table in the center of the room, surrounded by a circle of the 15–30 people attending, and everyone focuses their healing energy on the subject. Often the subject will describe symptoms they are experiencing that they want to heal, and sometimes not. The experienced healers give the person hands-on healing while others present concentrate all their love and healing energy on the subject and hold a luminous field of energy in the room to support both the hands-on healers and the subject.

Sometimes distance healing is undertaken, when there may be a picture of the subject on the table or something they own.

The results are often dramatic. The subject can go into a place of deep peace, or a trance, or experience involuntary body movements. It does not take place in silence. There is often laughter, cries of release from the innermost spirit of both subject and healers, verbal encouragement, or tears of joy. The subject is asked if they would like to recount their experience of the healing, which can be both a wonderfully humbling experience for all present We often hear of extraordinary effects: relief from pain or curing of symptoms present for many years, or the transformation of depression to joy. Other subjects come back weeks later and tell of longer-term healing, including the cure of cancer.

I have been on the table myself many times. It is an extraordinary, otherworldly experience of age-old barriers to health and sanity—not only from this life but also from past lives—being broken down, of the discovery of who you really are, of relief from physical symptoms.

The flow of healing energy is a two-way process. The healers and others present report that they too have felt uplifted and healed. The sessions have taken place in the same room for more than a decade, and the room has acquired an aura of sanctity, blessedness, and sheer healing power that is palpable.

These gatherings are open to anyone and are free of charge and no donations are asked for or expected. If you are in San Miguel between January and March, there is no better way of spending two hours than coming to Privada de Pila Seca 5 on any Thursday from noon. It is likely to change your life for the better.
