Artist Andrew Osta Returns to Bordello Gallery

By Clement Sclippa

An showing of previously unseen paintings by Andrew Osta will open at the Galería Bordello on December 7.

The diverse body of work on display in this exhibit ranges from realistic landscapes to surrealism to sensitively painted florals to whimsical depictions of Mexican life (mojigangas, parades, mariachis, dogs in the park).

“Andrew is an amazing young man who creates fabulous paintings,” says Sanmiguelense collector Sandy Hudson. “My husband and I collect traditional artwork, but Osta’s work seems to cross all boundaries. His art is definitely now hanging in our house. I just wish we had more wall space!”

Local film producer Faith Fuller agreed. “I am the proud owner of several of Andrew’s paintings. Especially meaningful are his whimsical and colorful portrayals of San Miguel. He is a multitalented and multicultural artist working in a variety of styles. Not only is he a talented painter, but he’s also a gifted writer and musician and just a good person!”

Osta’s show will remain up until through the first week of January.
