Música de San Miguel Presents “Rhythm & Roots” Show at Peralta Theater

By Victor Monterrubio

Música de San Miguel’s new show, “Rhythm & Roots,” a completely different musical experience with a variety of sounds from nine creative, experimental musicians with November 30. This is a world-class crew for a world-class city.

This concert will highlight a wide variety of rhythms and melodies—aspects of classical music, flamenco, Latin danzón, African rhythms, Middle Eastern melodies, contemporary electronic compositions, and the complexity of jazz in the simplicity of a folkloric melody.

Some of the most in-demand musicians on the San Miguel de Allende music scene are hosting this event: David Mendoza is on violin and percussion, Rubén Olvera is on electric and acoustic bass. Doug Robinson is on the keyboard, Salomón Maawad and Rodrigo are on saxophones, Patricio Peña is on piano, Victor Monterrubio is on drums and percussion, and Federico Azus with voice and guitar. The connection between the musicians is strong because they play together in other projects.

Come and join us on this musical journey next Friday, November 30, at Teatro Ángela Peralta at 6:30pm. Tickets prices are: luneta 350 pesos, palco and galleria 250 pesos. They are available in the theater box office and through the 415 151 9551 telephone number.
