Fourth Meeting of Critical Care Medicine

During August 22–25, the Fourth Annual Meeting of Echocardiography in Critical Medicine was held by the World Interactive Network Focused on Critical Ultrasound (WINFOCUS), Hospital Medica Avanzada Contigo (MAC), and the WINFOCUS Entertainment Center of México.

The professional conference was aimed at broadening knowledge in the critical, emergency, and internal medicine fields as well as that of anaesthesiology and pediatrics. All classes and workshops took place in the auditorium at the MAC. About 50 doctors from Celaya, Irapuato, and León, as well as from the United States, attended.

Among the topics important to these fields that were covered included Severe Acute Pulmonary Embolism, Cardiac Tamponade, ARDS (Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome), Cardiogenic vs Non-Cardiogenic Pulmonary Edema, Mechanical Ventilation Hatedness Failure, Septic Shock, and Severe Acute Valvular Dysfunction.

Workshops covered topics like Ecodynamics and Transesophageal Echocardiography, where attendees at times practiced on each other. Sponsors and suppliers of professional equipment in the pharmaceutical and ultrasound industry also attended the conference.
