Over 1,000 Pet Sterilizations Planned in Next 12-Month Period

As a follow-up to an article published in Atención on July 20, 2018, and based on financial support received from friends and animal lovers in San Miguel de Allende, my wife, Kiran, and I will be launching our second annual plan to sterilize 1,200 dogs and cats in varied neighborhoods over a 12-month period.

We had already committed to sterilize 1,000 animals with our own funds, as we did over the past 12 months. However, the donations we received will now allow us to sterilize 1,200! We are extremely grateful to those who contributed to help alleviate the pain and suffering of the hundreds of thousands of dogs and cats that will not be born, with so many then eventually being neglected or abandoned.

The next 12-month campaign will commence September 13, 2018, and the first three blitzes will be done in Colonia San Luis de Rey. The plan is to continue offering the campaigns in the same neighborhood until there are no more animals to sterilize. Dr Octavio Capitán Tovar will once again be performing all the surgeries (see photograph). Sandra Echeverria and her friends will volunteer, as they have done in the past. Anyone seeking to spread the word to those who cannot afford to pay for the procedures should call Sandra at 415 139 8338.
