New Conference Packages

You spoke and we listened! In addition to our usual Full Conference and Whole Enchilada packages, we are introducing a Writers’ Package, which includes all Concurrent Workshops, for writers who seek in-depth learning about the craft. And our all-new Pleasures of Reading Package includes all the keynote speeches plus “The Interviews” and the “Literary Death Match” and is perfect for you if you are not a writer but you want full immersion in the experience of our rich Literary Festival. We have also created a Parties Package for spouses and friends who want to get in on all the fun around the edges.

New Features

We are excited to announce several new features this year.

• In an event called, “The Interviews,” much beloved Canadian talk show host and seasoned interviewer Hal Wake will conduct on-stage interviews with three of our keynote speakers, for a more personal and in-depth experience with each of them.

• The “Literary Death Match” is groundbreaking literary entertainment. The originator of the event, Adrian Todd Zuniga, will lead us in an electrifying, feel-good literary event that is part comedy show, part game show. Four writers who will have applied to participate will compete in an edge-of-your-seat read off critiqued by three celebrity judges to decide the ultimate champion. Already a hit in sixty cities, the Literary Death Match now comes to San Miguel! Not to be missed!

• Watch for street entertainers stationed around the Conference campus to entertain and astound you, plus an entirely new Mexican Fiesta!

Panels, all open to the public will include

Women’s Voices

Five gifted authors will read selections that resonate from a place both deep and heartfelt. Followed by audience participation.

• Co-Cultural Panel: Writing and Reading Across Borders

• Writers and Freedom of Expression – Cosponsored by PEN

• Plus panels about agents, book publicity, memoir writing, and making a living as a writer.
