With the slogan “One swing, one smile,” CRISMA held its 5th Golf Tournament, and the first one in partnership with the Houston Methodist Hospital at the Club de Golf Ventanas, where around 80 players participated to make a positive impact on the lives of more than 200 children belonging to the foundation.

The tournament began its activities at 8am in the company of the invited guests: Lic. Vicente Fox, President of Mexico 2000–2006; Martha Sahagún, President of Fundación Vamos México; Cathy Easter, President and Executive Director of Global Services of Houston Methodist Hospital; José Nuñez, Vice President of Global Development of Houston Methodist Hospital; Dr. Kevin Varner, President of the Department of Orthopedics and Sports Medicine of Houston Methodist Hospital; Mike Waterman, President of the Houston Methodist Hospital Convention.

Among the activities of the tournament, was a golf clinic for the children of CRISMA and girls of the Casa Hogar Corazón Valiente who live in situations of need with some receiving comprehensive therapies. In this clinic the children learned to shoot and understand the importance of physical movement to achieve their goals, and that little by little, with practice, they would achieve better results. Also present were a couple of children who are a “success stories,” arriving at the doors of CRISMA with movement difficulties and already giving their best on the golf course.

At the end of the tournament, players and special guests gathered in the clubhouse of the venue to enjoy a meal and toast the efforts of all the teams. Following the meal, the awards session kicked off with the winners of the top 3 places. Twelve people were awarded quad bikes, televisions, travel for a medical checkup at Methodist Hospital in Houston, round-trip flights sponsored by United Airlines, and a pleasant sense of triumph.

Once again the goal was achieved that has year after year been the purpose of the tournament. This year the plan is plan to begin construction of the new Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center San Miguel de Allende to serve more than 500 patients and continue to fulfill dreams and bring smiles to the children, the future of México.
