Casa Equis Arrives in San Miguel

By Diego Beyró

Casa Equis is a unique mobile art gallery coming from CDMX, and it will be open only for a few days in San Miguel de Allende.

This event will feature artists’ meetings, residences, exhibitions, and also an art market. Everything will be happening inside a house, which gives the project an informal and very warm touch.

In this colonial-era house in the heart of San Miguel, Casa Equis will be setting up its Art Market for just a few days, between July 18 and 22, in a house located in front of Benito Juarez Park on Diezmo Viejo 1. A mixture between a traditional gallery and an independent art space, the house has an informal atmosphere where you can talk about art and life and even socialize with Roma the dog, Casa Equis’s mascot.

Mexican and international artists are participating in this gallery event, as well as emerging artists and others with a long career. There is also a variety of prices—but the concept behind the event is that art should be accessible not expensive. We are all in one way or another collectors, and at this market, everyone will find something that suits their taste and fits their wall. The work of more than 30 artists will be for sale, including paintings, drawings, collage, prints, engravings, and silkscreen.

On Wednesday, July 18, there will be a special all-day welcome cocktail event. Credit cards will be accepted.
