The Picasso Art Workshop at Rosewood offers a great creative environment for youth where their imagination, creativity, and passion for art take flight. The children learn art techniques and design elements. They make cartoons and paint in the beautiful Rosewood garden. They also make clay sculptures, puppets, and collage. They paint portraits and master landscape perspectives.

Older teens learn design elements, art history, portrait painting, and still life and landscape techniques.

Due to our small class size, early registration is recommended.

Class starts at 10am. The children will have a healthy snack of milk or juice with homemade chocolate chip cookies as well as carrot sticks and cheese. Class ends at 1pm.

On Friday, snacks include pizza and ice cream.

We have young children who have started at age four and have been returning to San Miguel de Allende every summer just to discover their amazing creative side with their friends.

We have preteens ages 11–12 who love doing studies of the Old Masters portraits. They interpreted the Girl with the Pearl Earrings by Vermeer or Lady with the Ermine by Leonardo da Vinci in their beautiful style and captured the breathtaking beauty of the work. They learned so much while having fun with peers. It is a very positive environment to discover their passion for art.

If weather permits, we take the children to the Bellas Artes or the Fábrica La Aurora on field trips to meet well-known artists in their studios. The children will remember their fun times in San Miguel, this art destination.
