Friends Forever in San Miguel de Allende

Amigos Para Siempre

By Sarahi Valverde

For the first time in San Miguel de Allende, we will have the pleasure of listening to three of the most recognized native artists on the same stage: Morganna Love, Enrique de Allende, and Mauro Ledesma.

Born in San Miguel de Allende and with a passion for singing since her childhood, Love became the first trans soprano in Mexico, breaking with schemes and stereotypes in the musical world.

In her international career, Love has performed in countries such as France, Thailand, Canada, and Costa Rica. Recently, the short film Oasis, in which she is the main character, was the winner of the Silver Goddess and the Ariel, the most important awards in the Mexican film industry. Her documentary, Made in Bangkok, which shows the transition of the young countertenor named Saul into a beautiful woman with a prodigious voice, has also received several awards and was recently shown in the most important movie theaters in Mexico.

Love graduated from the National Conservatory of Music of Mexico, where she won an award as the best singer of her graduating class. She has a broad career, not only as a singer but also as an actress, appearing in various films and documentaries, one of them produced by National Geographic. Love is proudly from San Miguel and a UN ambassador for the rights of the LGBT community.

Enrique de Allende is one of our city’s favorite local singers. He is carrying out worldwide projects in London and will travel again in September to participate in some of them. He studied singing in Los Angeles, and his versatility and vocal technique allow him to easily tackle different genres.

Both artists will be accompanied by the choir of the San Miguel de Allende Opera under the direction of pianist Mauro Ledesma, who is also one of the most recognized local artists in Mexico and beyond.

Don’t miss this concert! It promises to be magical, with genres such as opera, Broadway, and Mexican music being performed by these three Sanmiguelenses who have proudly represented our city around the world.
