Lifepath Center Begins Women’s Circle Singing and Sound Meditation

By María Ana Luisa Cervantes Mondragón

Everything sings: the birds, the whales, the wind, the ocean waves, Earth itself. Many ancient traditions believe that this is the way the world came to be…through sound and vibration. We humans can sing as a means to express the essence of our soul, we sing sorrows, triumphs, ecstasy, desire, joy.

When we use our voice, we regain the first instrument that has been given to us to create.

Exploration of sound with our own voices expands consciousness by stopping the mind, creating inner peace. Women have gathered in circle since ancient times to talk, to sing, to meditate, or simply to be. This practice has been lost in our so-called modern society. The feminine rising (in both men and women) is an opportunity for tremendous shifts in consciousness and on our planet.

And though we still have work to do, those women that have come before us have paved the way, creating space for this pivotal time where we are shifting, changing, and transforming.

Circle Singing supports our spiritual paths. We gather to share the space, the silence, and the songs in a place with no judgments, where we are all one uniting our voices in song. These sessions will help us get back into our bodies as we explore and open our voices. We will do toning, mantra, and song singing, which will uplift our spirit. Come to explore the sacredness of sound with me every Tuesday night at Lifepath starting June 5.

LifeDance, or Biodanza, means to dance with life. Developed by a doctor and a psychologist in Chile in the 1960s. it is a system of personal development that has spread worldwide with increased popularity. The aim is to reteach us to put life first by connecting with our hearts. This deepens our connection with what is truly important in our life. LifeDance improves your well-being, body consciousness, self-love, and self-esteem and strengthens our sense of tribe and community.

The tools LifeDance uses in order to achieve the latter are selected music for each dance (music induces an emotional response), integrative dance (each dance has a purpose of self-integration), experiential based methodology (the power of working in a group), and the expansion of self-consciousness.

LifeDance works along five lines for emotional integration through dance: vitality (vital energy, action-rest, auto regulation), sexuality and sensuality, creativity (exploration, expression, and creation), affectivity (nutrition, safety, and giving and receiving) and transcendence (ego transcendence, integration, and ecstasy)

LifeDANCE is offered in workshops that last two months. The name of this workshop is “Cultivating our Dreams.” Join us every Thursday night at Lifepath starting June 7. There is no need to know how to dance!
