As part of the extraordinary concerts of the International Jazz and Blues Festival, this XXIV edition will celebrate International Jazz Day on April 28 at the Angela Peralta Theater. It will be an unforgettable evening with different musical styles such as blues, traditional jazz, soul, R&B, Brazilian, funk, Latin and more.

Listen to the music of Bessie Smith, Ray Charles, Billie Holiday, Nancy Wilson, Milton Nascimento, Al Green, and more.

Jazz is much more than music; it is a lifestyle and an instrument of dialogue, even of social change. The history of jazz tells the story of the music’s power to bring together artists from different cultures and backgrounds and to be a conductor of integration and mutual respect. In times of change and uncertainty, we need the power of jazz more than ever to bring people together and strengthen respect for shared values. The new generations need tools that send a message of peace to the hearts, and jazz is one of them. In November 2011, during the General Conference of UNESCO, the international community proclaimed April 30 as International Jazz Day. The celebration of this show aims to make the public more aware about the virtues of jazz as an educational tool and as a force for peace, unity, dialogue, and strengthening cooperation between peoples.

With this concert, we join the worldwide celebration in more than 190 countries that will be enjoying International Jazz Day.
