On Sunday April 8 runners from all over our area will gather in the rural community of San Miguel Viejo run for fun, prizes and support for the local Ojala Niños’ after school education programs. There are 5 categories with a cash prize for first place in each category and other prizes for second and third places. Plenty of water will be provided during the race, and delicious tacitos after!

You can pre-register at Denver’s Olivo Italian Restaurant Wednesdays through Sundays from noon-8pm. The donation is 100 pesos for all adults, 50 pesos for teens and 10 pesos for children 12 and under. Registration on site at the entrance to the community begins at 8am. The race begins at 9am and the route will include the community, the historic chapel, the presa and Otomi.

A brief history of this Otomi community and the local chapel will be provided for those who’d like to stroll.

Directions: go to the train station and go straight across the tracks, about ½ mile on a cobblestone road. Follow the left arrow to arrive at the site.
